Obituary
Leslie Basaraba passed away September 1, 2023 at the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home.
Leslie was born in 1940 in Dauphin to Peter and Ann (Baran) Basaraba. He grew up on the family farm in Gilbert Plains. He was educated at Plainview School, Brickburn Collegiate and the University of Manitoba, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1962. Leslie worked as an AG-Rep in Beausejour and worked twelve years for the Assessment Branch of the Manitoba Government in Dauphin before devoting his full time to farming and logging in the Gilbert Plains / Grandview area. He also raised buffalo for many years. He enjoyed curling and golfing.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Ann, his sisters, Rose and Darlene, and his brother Clarence.
He leaves to mourn his nieces, Jackie (David), Tara (Michael) and Leslie (Chris), and nephew Vince (Michelle) and numerous cousins, several great nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home.
Graveside Service and interment was held on Thursday September 7, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB with Pastor Howard Burnie officiating.
