It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden unexpected passing of Lenard.

Lenard was born in Shoal Lake, MB To parents Sidney and Minnie [Shwaluk] Prokopchuk. Lenard's early school years were in Newdale, MB then in 1973 the family moved to Roblin, MB. While living in Roblin Lenard made many lifelong friends. As many of his friends went west to work, Lenard decided to go north to Lynn Lake, MB.

He worked at LaRonge Aviation for a while then started his mining career in April of 1979 for Sherrit Gorden Mines and then Lynn Gold. 

Lenard met Audrey [Bayoff] in 1979 and they started dating in 1982 when she came home from college. They were married in Roblin, MB on July 28,1984. In March of 1987 their beautiful daughter Sandee Lee was born; she was the apple of his eye. After the mine in Lynn Lake closed in November 1989, Lenard moved his family to Thompson to work at INCO Mine then later Vale, where he worked until he retired in June of 2016, after working 37 years in the mining industry.  

Lenard met many people over the years. He enjoyed many hobbies, playing baseball, hauling firewood, even collecting and selling scrap. He also enjoyed traveling with his friends in the carnival business in the summer.

Lenard is survived by his wife Audrey of Grandview, MB, his daughter Sandee Lee [Ian] McIntyre of Gimli, MB, Mother Minnie Prokopchuk of Roblin, MB, Sisters Audrey [Gord] Macaulay of Kelowna, BC, Joyce [Dean] Robinson of Winnipeg, MB. Brothers Leslie and Lester Prokopchuk of Roblin, MB. Mother-In law Zenia Bayoff of Grandview, MB. Also many nephews, nieces , Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by son Cody who died at birth, his Father-In law John Bayoff and his Father Sidney Prokopchuk.

Lenard will be missed by everyone that knew him.

A private graveside service for family and close friends, will take place in Grandview Memorial Gardens & District Cemetery, May 5, 2023 at 11.00 am with Rev. Karen Kuzek officiating.

Celebration of Life will take place at the Grandview Kinsmen Community Hall at 12 noon.
