It is with deep sadness that the family of Lawrence Manford Jacobson announce his passing on April 13th, 2021.
Lawrence was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandpa who will be profoundly missed. Along with his wife, they moved to Sifton, MB area in April 1968 to start their farm. They raised and taught their children many things which included the value of hard work and the love of true ranch life. His years of experience raising and caring for livestock as well as training saddle and driving horses was passed down to his children and grandchildren. Lawrence was a great mentor and had many talents which included Thoroughbred chariot and flat racing in his younger years. Throughout his lifetime, he held many positions which included work on the oil rigs, truck driver, farmer/rancher, and many decades as a rider at the community pastures. Lawrence was a hard working cowboy who always lended a hand to all who needed it. His quiet demeanour and heartwarming smile will be truly missed.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 56 years – Marlynne (also known as Molly); his children – Luella (Wayne), Iona (Craig), Deanna (David), and Warren (Sarah); his grandchildren: Ashton, Kyle, Justin, Cody, Levi, Marteena, Kaitlyn (Teagan), Cali (Drisen), and great grandchild Zeke. Also left to mourn are his siblings: Odin (Beatrice), Shirley (Tommy), Violet, Thelmona (Chris); sister-in-law: Thelma, brother-in-law: Lavern (Loretta); as well as all their children, grandchildren, and extended families. All those who loved Lawrence, can consider themselves as honorary pallbearers for his journey to another horse race in heaven.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
