It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Lavina “Chubba” Boucher Pelletier on February 27, 2026.
Lavina was born to Helen Boucher (nee Campbell) and Roderick Boucher. She was lovingly named after her aunt Bertha “Chubba” on her father’s side, a name that remained with her throughout her life and became known by many. Anyone who knew Lavina knew she was nearby – you could hear her laughter and her strong voice before you saw her. She spoke her mind, told it how it was, and was always straightforward, but her words always came from a place of care.
Lavina shared a loving marriage with her husband Norman Pelletier. She was a devoted mother to her children Becky, Marie, Jenna, and Darnel and a proud grandmother to Zendaya, Emryn, and Maelynn, who were the light of her life. Her grandchildren were her heart, and she loved her “little people” deeply.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many friends. Lavina shared strong bonds with her brothers and sisters, and her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her life. Her family recalls how close they all were, knowing everything about one another and always being there through both joy and hardship.
Lavina was well known in her community for her strong presence, her generosity, and her willingness to help anyone in need. She was always supportive to those around her and never hesitated to stand beside someone going through a difficult time.
In her younger years, Lavina was an exceptional athlete. She played baseball at a young age and excelled in nearly every sport she tried. She even traveled to Minneapolis to play broomball. Later, she became a coach for the Frontier Games and proudly escorted teams to the Divisionals, encouraging youth and guiding them with patience and pride.
She worked as an Educational Assistant and cared deeply about the students she supported. She challenged them to do their best and believed strongly in their potential. She was always ready to help, guide, and advocate for the youth in her care.
Lavina will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, coach, helper, and friend. Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. The many calls and messages of condolences from different places show how many lives she touched.
Though our hearts are broke, we find comfort in believing she is now at peace – no more worries, no more crying, and no more pain. She will forever remain in our memories and in our hearts as our guardian angel watching over us.
Lovingly remembered and forever missed.
