Laurie Ann MacMillan of Ochre River, Manitoba passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the age of 70 years.
Laurie was born on November 8, 1955 to Jim and Doris Leslie. She was a sister to brothers Jack and Jim.
Laurie lived all her life in Ochre River, she lived in the same house as her parents and grandparents did. This she was very proud of. She was in 4-H and also loved to play baseball. She was an amazing pitcher.
Laurie throughout her professional career worked at Dauphin Co-op, Dauphin Credit Union and Ste. Rose Hospital. In 1988 and up to 2002 Laurie was the Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Ochre River.
Laurie loved her flowers, one year she planted an all-white flower bed and worked really hard to keep everything white but one year a red flower showed up out of nowhere, she said it must be s sign.
Laurie loved to travel. She travelled to parts of the states and Ireland and Scotland. Her last trip to Scotland she encouraged her partner Bruce Hannibal to travel with her. It was a highlight for her that Bruce got to travel with her.
Laurie will be missed dearly by her long-time love Bruce Hannibal and his family.
Her nieces Debbie, Sandra (deceased), Shannon (deceased), Tracy and her nephews Jack and Billy (deceased).
Rest Easy Laurie in your heavenly flower garden.
