Larry Leschasin of Grandview, Manitoba passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
Larry was born on May 3rd, 1941 to Wes and Marion Leschasin who farmed in the Pleasant Valley area southwest of Grandview.
Larry grew up in this community, and went to Dnepro school as a child, a one room school house.
Larry had many interests and his work reflected that. When younger he worked on his uncles saw mill and on equipment in heavy construction.
He farmed with his parents, and later on with his young family in Petlura and near Benito.
He worked at Sneath-Strilchuk's Roblin chapel and later at Provincial Granite Works in Dauphin.
He spent time at the then Town of Dauphin, and later worked for several years with his brother Ivan at Ashville welding.
In his later years Larry would keep busy with local farmers working in different roles.
In retirement Larry would spend his time hunting and fishing.
His cherished memory was his trips to Ukraine visiting the extended family of his grandparents who came to Canada 110 years ago.
Larry is survived by his wife Heather; his sons Les, Darrell, and Darren; his grand daughters Kathryne and Karter; step sons Greg, Trevor & Jason; step grandchildren, Stephanie, Christine, Cameron, Zander, Brooklyn & Jordan, and 4 step great grandchildren, Liam, Jaxx, Melody & Alice; his brother Ivan; plus many cousins and other relatives.
Special acknowledgement to those who are pall bearers and honourary pall bearers for the funeral.
Funeral Service was held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm from Grandview United Church in Grandview, MB with Rev. Karen Kuzek officiating. Interment followed in Grandview Memorial Gardens & District Cemetery in Grandview, MB.
