Kenneth Malcolm
February 15, 1946 - May 16, 2025
It is with sadness that the family of Kenneth Malcolm announces his passing at his residence on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 79 years.
Kenneth was born on the Ebb and Flow First Nation to George and Alice Malcolm (nee Spence). He was a residential school survivor. Kenneth worked all his life. He was a carpenter and served as a councilor for Ebb and Flow First Nation from 1999 to 2007. Kenneth attended Assiniboine College
Kenneth enjoyed playing sports. He played hockey and baseball and enjoyed riding his snowmobile. Kenneth played pool and won a lot of trophies. In the 1980’s, he was part of the construction company in the building of the school.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents George and Alice Malcolm, his adopted father Joe Garneau, his siblings Joe, Clarence, Wayne, Delma Rose, Mary, Rachel, and Lena, his daughter Brenda Lynn, his sons-in-law Michael Houle, Stewart Racette Sr, his in-law Lawrence and Josephine Campbell, his brothers-in-law Clifford, Elie, William and sister-in-law Laverne, his godparents James and Rosine Malcolm.
Kenneth and Lucy have been together for over 60 years and they had 7 children; Brenda Lynn Campbell was born in March of 1966 and passed away before her first birthday, Kenneth Keith Jr Malcolm (Tammy), Darlene Malcolm (Ivan Maytwayashing), Myrna Malcolm, Darcy Malcolm (Elaine), Tracy Racette, Darren Malcolm (Cara).
He will be remembered by his grandchildren; Adrian, Melanie, Blake, Michael, April, Mitchell, Darcy Jr, Leanna, Tati, Shayna, Tianna, Stewart Jr, Tia, Tracey, Tamara, Taylynn, Khloe, Kendall, Tanayah, Tate, his step grandchildren Bianca, Phoenix, Precious, Brayden, Cayla, J.C., Anthony and Tasia, his great grandchildren Braxton, Michael, Liam, Avril, Whitley, Weston, Zelda, Terren, Treyson, Tucker, Leo, Zayde, Kylie, Lelynd, Theodre, Bailey, Blake, Bently, Benthany, Brielle, Cheyenne, Zachary, Zander, Xzavier, Drayson, Stewart Jr, Memphis, Kenzie and Brayli, his sisters Margaret MacDonald, Melvina Hunter, Louise (Raymond) Casavant, Doreen Stoneman, Eva (Bill) Bradford, his brothers Dennis Malcolm, John Hunter, Ron Hunter, Rene Hunter Sr, his goddaughter Viola Desjarlais, his in-laws Harriet & Craig, Debra & Harold, Glen, Elizabeth & Steven, Patrick, Belinda & Dan, Maxine & Ernest, Burton, Jason & Cynthia, his sister-in-law Karen along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Wake and Prayer Services was held on Sunday, May 25th, 2025 beginning at 5:00 pm from the family residence, 640 Joe Houle Road, Ebb and Flow First Nation. Prayers will be said at 7:00 pm. Family and friends wishing to escort Kenneth home are asked to meet at Sneath-Strilchuk's Ste. Rose Chapel on Sunday at 4:00 pm.
Funeral Service was held on Monday, May 26th, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Ebb and Flow Community Complex, Ebb and Flow First Nation. Fr. Moise Adossou will officiate.
Interment has taken place in the Ebb and Flow Cemetery.
