Kayson Campbell Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kayson Gregory Campbell on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at the age of 15.

Kayson is survived by his parents; Kayla and Cody and brothers Cavan and Kenton Campbell of Valley River, MB; grandparents Dean and Teresa Rausch of Dauphin, MB; great grandmother Betty Rausch; along with numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

He is predeceased by his grandmother Valerie Campbell, Great grandparents Terry and Cathy Day, Larry Rausch, Irene and Thomas Campbell, Jim and Elsie Robertson and his cousin Gregory Patterson.

Kayson was born on Dec 11, 2009 in Dauphin, MB to Kayla and Cody Campbell.  Kayson was the middle child with older brother Cavan and younger brother Kenton.  The family lived in Dauphin, MB before moving out to a small acreage in Valley River, MB in 2014.  Moving out to the country opened the doors to endless adventures.  Kayson had a love for the outdoors. He started going for ATV rides with his family and then that turned into him wanting more.  Dad introduced him to dirt biking and boy did he have a love for that. He hopped on and there was no turning back, and like anything he caught on quickly!  Kayson would eventually upgrade to bigger bikes where he finally ended up with his YZ 125X.  He would keep his bike in pristine condition, always washing it when it had a little bit of dirt on it.  He did all the maintenance, modifications and tunning to the bike, installing an FMF exhaust for more power and sound.  You could hear him coming from a mile away.  He loved being loud.  Kayson loved going for rides with his brothers, cousins, grandparents, friends and all his family. He was always up for an adventure!

Kayson was very creative, and it started at a young age.  You would see him sitting in the porch stacking cans of cola when he was a baby, to eventually doing puzzles and building Lego.  He loved his Lego, and he would sit for hours and build. Kayson loved to play video games, countless hours were spent gaming with his brothers and his friends. When his Xbox wasn’t enough anymore, he would set a plan to build a gaming computer for more gaming power. Kayson would work a lot of hours at Coop to earn money so he could buy all the parts to build his computer.  With the help of his good buddy, he built it!! He was so proud of his PC.

Kayson loved having his friends come for a sleepover, they would all hop on the side by side and go touring. Late night gaming was always a must with chips, popcorn and snacks. They would keep mom and dad up all hours of the night. His room would be filled with so much excitement and laughter. He had a great group of friends and for that we are thankful!

Kayson was pretty much at grandma and grandpas every weekend when he was younger and as he got older, he would still stay at their place from time to time.  While other kids would be too busy for their grandparents, Kayson always made time for them! He loved having sleepovers at their place. He loved grandma’s brownies and grandpa’s fried potatoes and bacon in the mornings. In the summer his cousins would come to the lake, and they would all go swimming in the pool and have a great time together.

When Dad was gone to work on the Drills Kayson was kind of like the man of the house.  If mom needed help doing or fixing something he would step in and help.  He even knew mom was lonely and he would crawl into bed with her at night as he knew she didn’t like sleeping by herself.  He made her feel so loved and she did the same for him.  When dad was home from work, Kayson was right by his side. Whether it be gaming on the switch, tinkering with the bikes or just going for a ride!  Snowmobiling was the new trend for adventure for Kayson that was cut too short, he only had one winter of riding, but he made the most of it.  He went on a poker derby and numerous rides with his brothers and friends.  He was one tough kid, no matter the weather he was suited up and out the door!

We could write a book about our Kayson. He was so perfect! We couldn’t have asked for a more loving, caring and talented son. He will be missed by all that know him.  He was a lover!

Kayson lived to ride! We all know it was something he loved.  He felt free doing it.  His life was taken from him far too soon, but we feel comfort in knowing that he was doing something he loved.
