Kathleen (Kay) French passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, in the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home at the great age of 97.
Kay was predeceased by her husband Don French, parents Alec and Edna Young, siblings Dolores, age 3 and Eileen an infant.
Kay was predeceased by her friend and partner in later years, John (Bob) Cole and through this partnership Kay had an extended family to share many happy times with.
Kay was proud of her career with MTS and after many years of service she retired at the age of 60. She continued to lead an active self reliant life in the community of Dauphin. Due to mobility issues Kay at the age of 94 became a resident at the Gilbert Plains PCH. She missed her ability to do things for herself, but appreciated everything that was done for her.
Kay will be lovingly remembered by her family, Cindy and Al Jackie (Dauphin), Paula, Craig, Sophie and Brody Kaminski (Dauphin), Kathy, Dave, Ronin and Ryker London (Victoria B.C.)
As per Kay's wishes there will be no funeral service. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
Rest in Peace Kay.
"When they lay me down some day
My soul will rise and fly away
And this old world will turn around
I'll be at peace when they lay me down"
