Kathleen "Kay" (Irvine) Priest

Kathleen (Kay) Winona Priest of Dauphin, MB passed away peacefully June 21, 2022 at Brandon General Hospital at the age of 91.

Mom was born on April 27, 1931 in the Shell River Municipality of Roblin, MB to Stanley Irvine and Gladys (Wallace) Irvine.  She was the 4th child of a family of 10.

In 1949 she moved to Gilbert Plains, MB and married Edwin Alfred Priest on December 20, 1950 where she lived until her move to Happy Haven in Dauphin in the fall of 2020.

Mom worked for many years first at the hospital as a nurses aide and later moving into housekeeping and laundry at the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home until her retirement in 1981.

She was predeceased by her husband Edwin in 1966; son-in-law Nick in 1996; son Garry in 2008; and great granddaughter Patricia in 2010; also brothers Lawrence, Tom, Gordon, and Don and sister Olive.

Left to mourn her passing are 3 daughters Sharron Popoff of Roblin, MB, Denise (Albert) Hoffman Dauphin, MB, Marlene (George) Aitken of Gilbert Plains, MB; son Kelly (Bev) Priest of Edgerton, AB; also 3 sisters Elaine, Lillian & Gwendolyn; as well as brother Neil.

There are 7 grandchildren, Barbara, Edwin, Sara, Christopher, Tim, Ashley, Michelle & Shaun; as well as 9 great grandchildren, Makayla, Jasmine, Adrianna, Danni, Mason, Nolan & Luke.

Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 am from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Pastor Floyd Martens officiating.  Interment followed in Chatsworth Cemetery in Gilbert Plains, MB.  Pallbearers were Edwin Popoff, Christopher Aitken, Tim Hoffman, Bill Matsyk, Shawn Monro, Debbie Hoffman.
