John "Johnny" Woytkiewicz

John Michael Woytkiewicz, 82 of Ethelbert, MB passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.

John was born on May 13, 1943, in Edmonton, Alberta.

John’s greatest achievement was raising his two children and providing for his family. Teaching them the values in life was important to him. That his children were brought up right and that we should be thankful for what we had. His helpfulness was always there when needed and would not deny you anything of his.

John was entertaining at family gatherings, which kept us humoured and full of laughter. John will be truly missed by his family. There will not be a day that goes by that he will not be missed.

Left to mourn is his wife Elsie (nee: Maksymiw) of 59 years; his two children, Greg and wife Loretta, Laurie and fiancé John; his grandchildren Kyle and wife Amber, Nicolette and partner Nick, Kelsey and partner Dane, Jordyn and partner Tyler; his great grandchildren Theo and Bailey; his sister-in-law‘s Mabel and husband Ernie Karpiak, Nettie Karpiak, Darlene and husband James Yellowega and many nieces and nephews.

He has predeceased by his father and mother Jan and Cora; his mother and father-in-law Bill and Betty; brother Jim; Uncle Peter Wizbit and his brother-in-law Tom Karpiak.

Should friends so desire, donations in memory of John may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

The family wishes to send special thanks to the staff at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Dr. Mike Penrose and staff and Sneath- Strilchuk Funeral Services for taking care of the funeral arrangements.

A Funeral Mass was held for Johnny on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 am from the St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church in Dauphin with Fr. Christopher Dubois officiating.  

Interment followed in the Ethelbert Roman Catholic Cemetery.
