John Werbiski Obituary

John Joseph Werbiski of Benyk’s Point, MB passed away on April 8, 2026 at the age of 82 years.

John was born on February 17, 1944, in Ste. Rose du Lac to parents Joseph and Eileen Werbiski. John spent his early years on the family farm and then the family moved to Rorketon in 1949 where he received his formal education. John’s father, Joe, began a bulk fuel station shortly thereafter which he ran until his passing in 1978.

After his father’s passing JJ took over the family business and operated it for the next five decades until his tragic passing on April the 8th of this year. He was a fixture in the community and the gas station was often a gathering place for community members who would stop by for a visit.

JJ spent many happy years in his home at Benyk’s Point on Lake Manitoba where he enjoyed his beautiful property and the surrounding nature.

He was predeceased by his father Joseph in 1978 and his mother Eileen in 2005.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lawrence Community Centre in Rorketon, MB.

Interment followed in the St. John’s Cemetery in Rorketon, MB.

Pallbearers were Dale Claeys, Adam Tymchuk, Brian Werbiski, Sandra Thibert, Mike Gawaziuk, John Stykalo and members of the Rorketon Fire Department.
