John Taylor Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Johnathan, who left as far too soon at the age of 50, at his home in Dauphin.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rachel Taylor; children Cameron Taylor and Ayla Taylor; mother Betty Filipchuk (Terry); father Garfield Taylor (Nancy); sister Elizabeth Taylor; brother Christopher Taylor (Jamie); stepsister Cijae Filipchuk (Marcus); mother-in-law Kathleen Henry; brother-in-law Christopher Henry; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and extended family.

Johnathan was born in Dauphin, Manitoba after graduating from Ste Rose, he moved to Winnipeg to begin his adult life. Longing for a simpler lifestyle, he eventually returned to Dauphin to start his family. In time he met the love of his life, Rachel, and they were married on July 13, 2021. Together they created countless beautiful memories with his children who were his greatest pride and joy.

Anyone who met Johnathan was welcome by his warm smile. He loved talking with people and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Around Dauphin he could often be found helping with cadets, football, the ride program or out on his Harley. Johnathan was deeply committed to his community and his children’s future; he even ran for school trustee and proudly served on the division board for several years. Professionally, he worked at Assiniboine Community College for many years, where he was known for his kindness, willingness to help and genuine interest in everyone he met.

Johnathan was a constant source of encouragement for Cameron and Ayla. He never missed a chance to cheer on Ayla at gymnastics or cadets, and he could always be found on the sidelines enthusiastically supporting Cameron during football game. His pride in his children was endless and his support unwavering.

Johnathan‘s happier years was when Rachel came into his life. They were always joking around, and you could see in his face how happy Rachel made him. They were always together; Rachel letting him get away with anything and everything he wanted “Supporting Him?” and that is how Johnathan ended up with a Harley.

Although his passing leaves an enormous void in our lives, we take comfort in the many cherished memories he gave us. Johnathan will be forever in our hearts.
