John Mandryk Obituary

John passed away suddenly at his residence at Ochre River, MB. He is survived by his wife Linda of 43 years; children Adele (Rick) Murphy, Ronette Mandryk, Nicole (Len) Lunsted, Ian (Megan) Mandryk and April Mandryk; grandchildren Craig, Ryan, Kimberly, Allison, Bailey, Christopher, Kyle and Ripley. He is also survived by Aunt Rose Polka and siblings Mary (Carl) Starodub, Vicki (Bert) Keryluk, Jean (Matt) Baydock, Willie (Vera) Mandryk; In-laws Gerald (Julie) Kristinnson, Ruth (Terry) Kristinnson/D'Aoust, Eric Kristinnson as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at the Riverside Evergreen Chapel in Dauphin, MB on Saturday December 18, 2010. Cremation took place following the service. Burial will take place at the Shorncliffe community cemetery in the summer (2011).

John was born on November 30, 1944 at the family home in Shorncliffe, MB. He attended Shorncliffe School 1 - 8 and Riverton High School 9 & 10. He enjoyed life on the farm, playing his fiddle, spending time with family and working on heavy machinery (mostly cat and scraper). John was equally proud of reaching his 50th anniversary at his job and was looking forward to his 44th wedding anniversary next July.

Children and Grandchildren were upmost in his mind as retirement started settling in and John looked forward to spending the winter months and holidays surrounded by his family. He thought he'd have the best of two worlds by living on the farm in the summer and residing in Ochre River (near Dauphin) in the winter.

Special thanks to the Dauphin Ambulance Service, Dauphin General Hospital and RCMP detachment for their attentiveness and compassion during this time.

The family would like to send appreciation to the special people in our lives; family, friends and neighbors for their kind thought and acts; helping us through this difficult time.
