John Denys of Ste. Rose du Lac passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the age of 69 years.
John Vladimir Antoine Denys was born November 30, 1948 to parents Vladimir Denys and Evelyn Lepla. He was raised on the family farm in the Rural Municipality of Ste. Rose at SE 5-24-14W. John attended Ste. Amelie School for 8 years and finished high school in Ste. Rose du Lac. He enrolled at the University of Manitoba and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelors degree in Science majoring in chemistry. He was accepted into the Masters program but chose to work instead. He moved to Saskatchewan and worked for two different potash mines before coming back to the family farm.
Vladimir and Evelyn had six children: Linda (Rene Desmarais), John (Michelle Guillas), Shirley (Alain Desmarais - deceased; Henry Fortin), Diane (Leo Delaurier - deceased; Allan Dipple), Daniel (Marlene Guyot), Sharon (deceased in infancy). John was predeceased by his parents Vladimir in 1979, Evelyn in 2016, his father-in-law Andre in 2005.
John and Michelle were married November 15, 1980. Melissa (Brad Wolfe) was born in 1982, Allison (Craig Murray) in 1984 and David (Wen Ting) in 1987. John was a very proud father and worked long hours to provide for his family. He supported them in every way. He leaves behind four grandchildren - Kate Roulette, Lincoln, Sophie and Elora Murray. He was looking forward to meeting David and Wynn's child expected in November of this year.
John was a humble, kind and generous person, never one to complain. We will miss him! As his granddaughter Sophie said "Who's going to give me treats now?".
