Joseph Robert James Levasseur, known as Jim (Budgyboo) of Ebb and Flow First Nation passed away peacefully on September 20, 2020 at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home at the age of 77 years. Jim was born August 21, 1943, in a Teepee in Gladstone, MB.
On May 17, 1975, Jim married Bonnie (McCutcheon) Levasseur in Kelwood. Throughout his life,Jim worked very hard in many fields such as farming, carpentry and railways. He drove a gravel truck and bulldozer. His proudest accomplishment was achieving his class 2 Bus Driver licence and worked for the Ebb and Flow Education Authority as a bus driver for 20 years.
Jim was very passionate about music, he loved good ole rock n roll, and good ole country. He played guitar, piano, and a little bit of fiddle. Jim enjoyed fixing vehicles, hunting, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, beading regalia and playing cards. What he loved most was caring for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, sister Elsie, uncle Moise (Val), his children Priscilla, Jeremiah, Keith (Channy), Kelvin (Mandy) Grandchildren; Iroc, Sunshine, Kodah, Jesse, Brock, Bianca, Brandt, Bennett, Kennedy, Dawsyn, Mason and Danilyn.
He was predeceased by; his father Rodrick Levasseur, his mother Anna Levasseur, his brothers; Fred, Paul, and his sisters; Hilda, Anne who passed away on the same day as Jim and his nephew Ronnie.
A wake for Jim began on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 7:00 pm from the residence of Bonnie Levasseur, 210 Levasseur Drive Ebb and Flow First Nation.
Funeral Service for Jim was held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Ebb and Flow Community Complex, Ebb and Flow First Nation
Interment in the Ebb and Flow Cemetery, Ebb and Flow First Nation
