Jeanette Sakal

Jeanette Evelyn Sakal (nee Kutzan) was born on August 5, 1940 in Grandview.  She passed away peacefully at the Grandview Personal Care Home on December 28, 2024 at the age of 84 years.  

She is survived by her children; Edward (Susie) and Jacqueline, her brothers Clifford (Irene) and Robert (Virginia); as well as 6 nephews and nieces and a great number of great nephews and nieces.  

Jeanette was predeceased by her daughter Darlene in 2005, her father Walter in 1994 and her mother Helen in 2006.  

Jeanette enjoyed life - living on her own with her children until they left home.  She was full of adventure, laughter, mischief and unconditional love, and truly enjoyed the outings with her Proctor, taking in many activities and trips in various communities.  When her health began to fail, she took up residence with Grandview Gateways Inc in the Dusty Rose House, enjoying the company of her housemates.  She loved working in the kitchen at the Friendly Corner Bake Shop and on Saturday, she loved going to the Drop-In-Centre to play Bingo.  

Jeanette attended the Lutheran church and was always waiting to be picked up to attend Sunday morning worship service until mobility issues and ill health prevented her from attending.  

In September 2023, she was admitted to the Grandview Personal Care Home.  She enjoyed her time there.  

A Funeral Service was held for Jeanette on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm from the Hope Lutheran Church, Grandview, MB  with Pastor Tim Schneider officiating.  

Interment followed in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Grandview, MB.
