Jean Louis Pinette

Jean Pinette of Ste. Rose du Lac passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the age of 94 years.  

Jean was born on April 1, 1924 in Ste. Rose du Lac to parents Felix and Philomene Pinette (nee Archambault), the 10th born of their 12 children.  Jean married Aurore Gingras in July 1, 1947.  Together they took his parent's family farm in Ste. Amelie when his parents retired to Ste. Rose du Lac.  Jean and Aurore started a family of their own the following years and went on to have a large family of 12 children.  

Jean worked very hard to ensure his family was always taken care of and enjoyed the life he chose.  Even when he "retired" and moved to Ste. Rose in 1977, Jean continued to work on the farm.  

He loved spending time with his family whether it was playing cards, watching his grandchildren take part in their sporting activities, concerts, camping, fishing, hunting and sledding.  Jean enjoyed being a member of the Jolly Club playing pool and cards with his friends

Jean leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; his wife Aurore, his children; Albert (Linda), Florence (Rex Drabble), Claude (Viola), Roseanne (Lucien Soucy), Gilles (Linda), Norman, Noellie (Ken Wiebe), Solange and Guy, along with 36 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.  

Jean was predeceased by his children Remi, Stella and Jerome, his son-in-laws Lenard Knezacek and William Spence, his daughter-in-law Elizabeth McDonald, his grandson Jerome Cote along with his parents and ten siblings  

He will forever be in our hearts.  

Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm from Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church  in Ste Rose du Lac, MB with Fr. Patrick Neufeld officiating.

Our family would like to thank Dr. O'Hagan and staff of the Ste. Rose General Hospital and to all of our family and friends who visited and offered support and prayers for Dad.  Thank you to Ryan Raffray in assisting our family with care and compassion in assuring that Dad's final wishes were carried out.
