Jason "Jay" McKay Obituary

On August 16th, 2020, Jason Charles McKay (Jay-Moose) left this world for his journey home, at the age of 47 years. Leaving behind to mourn is his wife Brenda and three sons, Morris (Cairo), Kurt (Chayla), Luke and special granddaughter Cedar with two more grandchildren on the way. As well as his mother, Margaret (Wally), sister Jennifer (Darcey) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also left to mourn, the Moosetail and McKay families. Jay was predeceased by his twin brother who passed as an infant, as well as the baby he and his wife Brenda lost, his Choom (Dad) Clifford Richard, Coco (Mom) Irene Richard, his cousin Karl Richard, and his sister/best friend Rachel (Quanch) Moosetail.
Jay made his appearance in the world on February 23, 1973. He was raised in Camperville where he met his wife of 26 years and lived in Pine Creek until moving to Dauphin where he spent the rest of his life. Jay had worked many jobs to help support his family, his last job being a security guard at the Dauphin Regional Hospital. There he had met and worked with a lot of great people.
Jay was a very humble man and liked to laugh a lot. His favourite thing to do was tease those around him, especially his granddaughter. He was known for his laugh which was loud and infectious. Jay left an impact on many and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Service was held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Rev. Michel Nault officiating.
