Janis Beyko Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Janis Elaine Beyko born May 16, 1959 at the age of 64.  She was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Sheila Beyko.  She leaves behind brothers Frederick (Rick), William (Bill), and sister Elizabeth (Betty), niece Stephanie and numerous cousins.

She was born and schooled in Dauphin.  After school she went to Red River Community College and got her Bookkeeping degree.  She then moved to Brandon and got a job at the YWCA.  There she met Jane Belanger and became best friends.  Together they spent many weekends playing video games or watching movies.

Janis then went to Brandon University to get a degree in computers.  She found the work hard, so she moved in with her mother, Sheila Beyko, in 1996.  The following year she broke her right leg.  After three years with her mother, Sheila passed away. In 2001 Janis then got an apartment and her best friend Jane moved in with her.

They again got caught up in video games and going out to movies until the theatre closed down in Dauphin.  They then moved into another apartment where she ended up breaking her right thigh bone.  In 2018 they moved again into a one story house.  It was easier to get around.  In 2020 she couldn't look after herself so she moved into Dauphin Personal Care Home.  She spent the last four years of her life there.
