James Norman Clair Humberstone of Brandon, MB passed away on August 10, 2023 at the age of 38.
James was the youngest son born to Bob and Heather (Johnston) Humberstone on March 14, 1985 in Dauphin, MB.
James grew up in Dauphin attending school from Kindergarten to Grade 12, Graduating from the DRCSS in 2003.He went on to Post Secondary school studying at the Mid Ocean School of Media Arts (Winnipeg). Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology graduating with honors to receive an Audio Engineer Diploma. Camosun College (Victoria BC) and recently Assiniboine Community College (Brandon) with a diploma from the Media Arts program.
James was a kind and gentle person, he loved animals and always had a dog by his side even if it was for dog sitting or looking after family pets. His passion from an early age was music, he enjoyed all forms of music and sports. He played drums and bass guitar for any band that wanted to jam. Around the age of 10 he was diagnosed with Chrons/Colitis, and this began a lifelong struggle with chronic pain and many, many surgeries and lengthy hospital stays. This led to many halts in his schooling and career, but through all the pain and suffering James persevered. He was a fighter and did whatever he could to continue his passion for Music and Audio recording. He cherished the times he could work and when he wasn't able to, he appreciated greatly the support from his family and friends. He was forever texting and communicating with family, and we spent countless hours talking about how he could record a new sound. Whether it was using a special microphone, or a special technique to get that perfect sound, and he usually accomplished it. His latest feature was learning how to film music videos to complement his audio skills. He was working on this at the time of his passing. We were so proud of all he accomplished from recording in studios, to mixing and doing post audio for commercials, to filming some local bands to create a music video. He was also very generous, volunteering his time to help film and record a few famous musicians doing a weekly You Tube video that was posted thought the worst of the Covid lockdown.
James was so special and our hearts are broken, he will be forever missed.
Left to mourn are his parents Bob and Heather Humberstone (Dauphin, MB), sister Rebecca Humberstone (Victoria, BC), brother Jeffrey Humberstone (Vancouver, BC), grandfather James Johnston (Dauphin, MB) and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In accordance with James' wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Center in Dauphin, MB
