John was born on September 18th, 1941 in Winnipegosis and Lived in Fork River all his life. Farming Grain, and raising Cattle was his way of life, with the odd Hitch working with his Brother Joe, or nephews Ervin, Edwin & Daryl with Midwest Drilling. John also loved to Socialize and Dance, often attending many Socials or Barn dances as they may have been called back then (haha). It was one of these events that with the help of his cousin Yvonne that he met his future wife Sarah. John was always willing to lend a hand to help out a neighbor, and most were always eager to return the favor. Many visits with friends and family, card playing nights, Grey Cup Parties, Hunting season, moving cattle herds from summer pastures to home for winter were great ways to build relationships that last forever. Rest in Peace Dad, we will miss the random phone calls asking if it rained or snowed, your smile and your sometimes twisted sense of humor.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Fork River Hall.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of John may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
