Jack Yaciuk, age 51 years of Victoria, British Columbia and formerly of Dauphin, passed away suddenly on November 4, 2007.
Jack grew up and received his education to Grade 12 in Dauphin, Manitoba. He later went to work for CN for a number of years and then moved to Calgary where he was employed with the City of Calgary. Later on he moved to Victoria where he became an artist and a writer, and at the time of his passing he was also employed with the Victoria Canada Post as a Postal Carrier.
Anyone who knew Jack knew that he loved life and experienced it to the fullest. He travelled the world going to such places as Thailand, England, Australia, Germany, Hawaii and Mexico.
He will be sadly missed.
Jack was predeceased by his father, William Yaciuk, and his brother, Gerald Yaciuk.
He leaves to cherish many fond memories his mother, Pauline Yaciuk of Dauphin; one sister, Barb Yaciuk of Dauphin; three brothers, Garry Yaciuk of Sifton, Orville Yaciuk of Calgary and Michael Yaciuk of Dauphin; one sister-in-law Ann Yaciuk of Ashville. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.
In accordance with Jack’s wishes, a private ceremony was held in Victoria, British Columbia.
A memorial service was held in Dauphin on Thursday, November 16, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. from the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel. Father Oleg Bodnarski officiated and Metro Lukie served as Cantor. The eulogy was delivered by Jack’s friend, Bob Austin.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Jack may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
