Harry Dadey Obituary

Harry Dadey of Dauphin, Manitoba passed away peacefully at the Dauphin Personal Care Home on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the age of 94 years.

Harry Dadey, was born at Rossburn, Manitoba to Frances (Ozarow) and Nick Dadey on Nov 24, 1926. In later years the family moved to Petlura (also known as Pleasant Valley) District. Attended Denepro School.  He said his Grade 5 teacher kept him for 3 years. When asked why, his logic was she liked him so much she just couldn’t let him go. He stuck with the same story his entire life. Guess it can’t be a lie because when someone lies, each statement is never same as the one before. When he always told it, it was always consistent but always followed by a little chuckle.

After schooling he worked as a logger and into farming. During that time he married Anne Negrych Feb 17, 1952 in Dauphin. They had 2 children, Shirley born in June 1954 and Robert (Bob) in June 1955. Moved to Dauphin in 1956. Their goal was a stopover in Dauphin for the winter as they only had a rickety old truck, a few belongings and 2 little kids then onto Calgary because his “partner in crime” his couple years younger brother Stanley was already living in Calgary. But he landed a job in Dauphin so decided to make Dauphin their new home. After that their last child, Dennis was born in Jan 1958.

Dad’s passion was cooking, his hobby was bicycles, and he was born with an entrepreneurial spirit, hence Harry’s Grocery and Harry’s Bicycle Shop.

Dad is now in the midst of many of his family members and are all celebrating Dad’s arrival.

Those who left this earthly plane prior to Dad are, Parents - Frances and Nick; Wife - Anne (2000); Child - Dennis Donald (Patricia) (2008); Siblings - Katherine (Katie) Mychasiw (Alex), Marion Skomorowski (Harry), Nick Dadey, Anne Mychasiw (Tom), Jessie Bondzuk (Mike), Rosaline Stadnyk (Andrew), Alex Dadey (Jeannette), Lawrence Dadey (Rae).

Surviving Dad are, Children - Shirley Dadey-Johnson (Winnipeg), Robert Wayne (Calgary);  Grandchildren - Twins Jennifer and Roberta (Robert’s children); Siblings - Donna Dadey (Dauphin), Stanley Dadey (Calgary); Many nieces and nephews.

Dad, you were more loved than you'll ever know.  Rest peacefully until we see you again one day.
