Gladys Glover Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Lorraine Glover on July 5, 2026 at the age of 95 years. Gladys passed away at the McCreary / Alonsa Personal Care Home where she resided since February 2024.

Gladys was born in McCreary on August 17, 1930 to parents, William and Regina McLaughlin. Gladys had twelve siblings, Ruth, Margaret, Edie, Audrey, Norma, Irma, Evelyn (who passed away at the age of two years old), Russell, Donald, Bruce, Gerald and Gordon. Gladys attended the McCreary school, worked in local restaurants and also cleaned homes for various people around McCreary. Gladys married Donald Robert Glover who referred to Gladys lovingly as “Punky” on September 29, 1949 in Neepawa. They had four children Larry Trent, Debra Jean, Robert John and Barry Gordon.

Gladys was a very generous lady to her family and her community. Gladys was a devoted member of the Knox United Church, where she volunteered her time for different events. She was also a member of the McCreary Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered her time. Gladys loved to curl with the local ladies, she liked going to the local Bonspiels. Gladys loved camping and going on trips with family and friends to different parts of Canada and sometimes to the USA. She especially enjoyed her summers at Clear Lake with her special friends that she camped with for many years. Sitting around the cook shack with the neighbours playing Romoli and different card games and having a glass of wine. Gladys enjoyed going cross-country skiing up in the park with Donald. Gladys had many special lady friends that she enjoyed going for lunch with and occasionally on out of town shopping trips or trips to Clear Lake. Most of all she got the most joy being around her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Gladys especially enjoyed Christmases where she would have large family dinners with her large family, when the gatherings became too large eventually Heather took over that job and they were held out at the farm. She loved to shop for herself, her children and grandchildren, it brought her great joy.

Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband of 75 years Donald Glover on July 6 of 2024.

Gladys leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories her sons Trent (Heather), Bob (Brenda), Barry (Sharon) and her daughter Deb (Dwayne Beattie), her grandchildren, Heidi (Jeremy Zastre), Bryce (Leona), Crystal (James Lobreau) Jena (Kyle Ratz) Tyrone (Amanda) and Hailey (Christian) Glover, her great grandchildren, Hunter (Kayla), Desiree (Jacob), Chase Glover, Layla Zastre (Brayden), Julien Zastre (Payton), Ariana and Addison Schepp, Layton and Madden Ratz.
