Gerald John Romaniuk

Gerald Romaniuk of Airdrie, AB passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the age of 61 years.
Gerald was born on March 9, 1958 to Dmytro and Annie (Palichuk) Romaniuk of Pine River.  He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Pine River and Ethelbert.  He moved to Fort McMurray, AB at the age of 18 and worked in maintenance for a school division.  In the fall of 1977 he moved to Golden, BC and was employed in the logging business.  In Golden he was know as Rookie.
Gerald had a good sense of humor and loved to tease.  He was very generous, hard working and always willing to give anyone a helping hand.  Whatever he did, he did his very best.  He came home when Dad passed away suddenly to help Mom on the farm till she moved into town.  He worked on road construction while he was in Pine River and then returned to Golden, BC.
His twin boys Jeremy and Jarred were born in 1993.  When they graduated he relocated to Calgary, AB so that the boys could attend university.  He then worked for Zell Industries near Edson, AB for the last 6 1/2 years.
He was predeceased by his Dad Dmytro in 1978 and Mother Annie in 1991.  Also his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his twin sons, Jeremy and Jarred of Airdrie, AB and their mother Susan of Golden, BC.  His brothers Ed (Maralyn) of Winnipeg, Larry (Treena) of Kamloops, BC and sister Irene (Doug) Fisher of Dauphin.  Nephews Rick (Andrea) and daughter Raeghan of Winnipeg, Mitchell (Stephanie) and children Hallie and Theo of Winnipeg and Darcey (Colette) of Wininpeg, and Robert of Kamloops, BC. Nieces Jodi (Jayson) of Winnipeg, Kristy (Tim) of Calgary, Olesia of Winnipeg, Dorothy (Doug) of Kamloops, BC, Aunt Sylvia Kowal of Dauphin, MB and many cousins.

 Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Ilene Dowd officiating.  Interment took place in Fletcher Cemetery in Pine River, MB.
