Genevieve Marie Louise Lebel passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024 in Dauphin, MB at the age of 49 years.
Genevieve was born on February 20, 1975. She leaves to mourn her passing; her parents Pierre Sr and Madeleine Lebel, her brother Pierre Jr and her sister-in-law Michelle along with her niece Freya and many extended family members.
After graduating from Red River Community College as an Early Childhood educator, Peter Pan Day Nursery was the start of her over 25 year career. Her experience expanded from Bumper Crop Day Care in Winnipeg, BU Learning Centre in Brandon, and then she became director at Les Amis in Shilo. In 2012, she returned to Peter Pan Day Nursery. The children had a special bond and gravitated to her - she loved those little people.
Genevieve was admired and inspired by her kind, humble, loving, patient, caring and compassionate heart. She made everyone around her feel seen and heard. Old and new friendships were important to her. Genevieve showed us resilience through example. When life threw challenges her way, she faced them with grace. Her unmistakeable determined sparkle in her eye and she set out a plan.
A celebration of Genevieve's life was held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin. Fr. Christopher Dubois officiated. All of Genevieve's family and friends were honorary urnbearers. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date.
Kindest regards to the Dauphin Hospital for the care and to Genevieve's family doctor Dr. F. Marais and Dr. J. Ungarian, Dr. Paul and Dr. Sivananthan from Cancer Care, to the special nurses and nurse's aides. you know who you are. Many thanks to Ryan Raffray for his assistance with the funeral arrangements
