Ethel Robinson passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on November 30, 2020 after a short illness.
She is survived by her son Stanley (Marie), daughter Beverley (Paul), grandchildren (Christopher (Miranda) and Danielle) and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel was born on July 12, 1919 to Nickolas and Dora Zywina in Moose Bay, Manitoba and was raised on the family farm with four brothers (Joe, Alex, Stanley and Petro) and four sisters (Lena, Julia, Pauline and Martha), all of whom predeceased her. Ethel moved to East Bay, Manitoba and married John Robinson in November 1941 with whom she shared two children. Ethel and John farmed until 1981 when they moved to Dauphin Manitoba to enjoy their retirement. Ethel and John travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States and Ethel continued her adventures after John’s passing in 1982.
Not one to sit idle, Ethel was very involved at her church when she was able and she especially loved singing in the choir. In her “retirement” Ethel provided childcare to many families and worked as a greeter at Walmart. Both on the farm and in Dauphin, Ethel demonstrated her flair for creating and maintaining magnificent gardens greatly enjoyed by all who visited. Ethel was also a talented baker and cook and her family fondly remembers many a delicious meal.
In her last few years, Ethel was cared for at the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home where she was able to be close to Beverley and Paul.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sandra Clark and the staff at Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home where Ethel was always treated with the utmost care and compassion.
A Private Funeral Service was held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm from Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, MB with Frances Stewart officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Ethel may be made to Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home Activities Department
