Ena Karen Eunice Mousseau ~ Binesikwe of the Raven Clan, made her journey to the spirit world on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 62.
Ena was born on November 03, 1958 in the Treaty One Territory, originated from Sandy Bay Anishinaabe Nation and Ebb and Flow Anishinaabe Nation (Treaty 2 Territory).
She is survived by her children; Ray Jr. (Tanya), Garry (Tricia), William (Tracy), and Samantha. Grandchildren; Sage Migiziins, River, Kyle, Layla, Clinton, Gianna, Desrae and Kayden. Her siblings; Laura (Maurice), Joanne (Robert), Sonja, Georgina (Tim), Roberta (Darrell), Kelly (Francine), Leon Max (Beverly) Jason (Nicole); Godchildren: Natalie Mousseau, Nathan Flett, Warren Mousseau and numerous nieces, nephews and inlaws.
Ena was predeceased by her husband Raymond “Shingoose”, son Raymond William James Mousseau and grandson Cody, her parents Robert Houle and Marguerite Beaulieu, and brothers Garry, Wayne and Howard.
Ena was a devoted mom, koko, sister, aunt, friend and teacher. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mom spent most of her time with family. She enjoyed going for rides with her daughter and grandkids, travelling, going to powwows, playing bingo, collecting ornaments, baking, sewing, making regalia for her grandchildren, being outdoors maintaining her yard and flower beds. She really enjoyed caring for animals; she kept horses, rabbits, turkeys, cats and dogs.
Mom was a pipe carrier, bundle carrier, knowledge keeper for our medicine, water and land. She spoke proudly in our Anishinaabe language. Her passion was teaching in elementary school and passing knowledge to children. She travelled all over with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was our biggest supporter in life and our biggest fan to the music we’ve created. She provided us with many teachings throughout her journey here on Mother Earth. She instilled the importance of our identity as Anishinaabeg and taught us how to embrace our gifts and bundles. She lived the Anishinaabe way of life.
There will be no viewing or funeral services, as mom provided us with direction to have her cremated. At her request traditional ceremonies will guide her journey to the Spirit World from Tuesday, June 15th to Saturday, June 19th 2021 in Ebb and Flow Anishinaabe Nation.
Miigwech to everyone who have reached out to our family! Miigwech for the support, prayers, and the love!
