It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the beloved family of Emil Larry Piwniuk announce his sudden passing on December 28, 2024.
Emil was born on August 4, 1957 on the family farm in Dropmore, MB to Joseph and Elsie Piwniuk. He was the oldest of four children. Emil worked in construction most of his life. He worked with his Dad and his brother Wayne until his retirement. Emil was a strong man and with help from family and friends he managed to pull through anything.
In 2003, Emil met Sandra in Roblin, Manitoba. In 2004 he purchased a home and made the extension happen with help of his friends and family. Emil and Sandra married in June 2006 and he gained two bonus children.
Emil enjoyed baseball (with the Hoods), golfing, fishing, hunting and hockey (with the Roblin North Stars). He also loved following the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team.
Emil leaves to mourn his passing his wife Sandra. His daughter Jennifer (Chris) with granddaughter Daune. His son Michael (Cassie) with grandchildren Aidan, Jordan, Davin, and Khloey. His daughter Alisha with granddaughters Rosalynn and Kosima. And son Alex. His brothers Wayne (Donna) and Perry. Plus his nieces, nephews and extended family.
Emil was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Elsie, his sister Patricia, daughter Nicole and granddaughter Layla.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Emil can be made to the Roblin Minor Hockey Association.
Prayer service was held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Ukrainian Catholic Church (Roblin, MB).
Funeral liturgy was held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Ukrainian Catholic Church.
