Ella Miscavish Obituary

Ella Lilian Miscavish

Ella Lilian Miscavish passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June
22, 2022 at the age of 85.
Ella was born on January 13, 1937 to Raymond and Agatha Tucker (nee Fitzmaurice), in Ste
Rose du Lac, MB. She was the oldest of five siblings. Maureen (Gordon) Brown, Janice (Frank)
Boccuti, Joseph (Lynda) Tucker, and Phyllis (Pierre) Gamache. She grew up on the riverbank in
Ste Rose du Lac, and eventually the house and family moved into town.
On July 11,1959 Ella married Leon Miscavish and together they raised a family of 5 children,
who tested their faith on every level. They remained married for 60 years, up until the passing
of Leon in 2019. They had a long, healthy loving marriage; a strong commitment to one another, to their faith in God, and their children.
Ella attended grade school in Ste. Rose and later finished high school at St. Charles Convent in
Winnipeg. It was a girl’s school and upon graduation the girls were finally given permission by
the Nuns to go mingle with some boys. Ella said she didn’t wait for them to change their
mind and went sprinting across the field, hiked her skirt and hurdled the fence. Ella furthered
her education at St. Boniface Hospital with a diploma as an X-Ray Technician, later furthering that to include Lab Technician. A career she continued for life, first in Winnipeg, then taking a break during their 6 year stay in Lynn Lake, and continuing after the 1972 move to Leaf Rapids until she retired in 1994. Ella and Leon loved the north and the people they met there. The friendships remained strong through out their lives. They were happy raising their family there and enjoyed the many outdoor pursuits available. Ella was very involved with volunteer work in the community and church, as well enjoyed many leisure pursuits throughout her life, too numerous to list, but a few were gardening, golfing, time with her family, cards, cooking, keen interest in birds and plants, appreciating all aspects of nature, and being on the water. How she loved the boat and fishing.

After her retirement they returned to the Tucker family home in Ste. Rose and rekindled old friendships as well as made many new and wonderful friends. Ella made the move to Flin Flon for her final year and during that short time made a big impression on the staff and residents at the Northern Lights Manor who cared well for Mom. She was able to receive many visits and enjoy outings with her five children. She was content with the move.

Ella has joined in heaven, her husband Leon Miscavish, her parents Raymond and Agatha
Tucker, her brother Joe Tucker, her in-laws William and Lea Miscavish, her brother in-laws
Gordon Brown, Frank Boccuti, and Pierre Gamache, sister and brother in-laws Bernice
(nee Miscavish) and Noel Cantin, and as well her niece Lois Cantin, and many close friends where they are certain to be enjoying a grand reunion.

She leaves to mourn her passing, Her children, Kenneth (JoAnn) Miscavish, Lynn (Dave) Watkins, Sharon (Henri) Beck,
