Elizabeth Elsie (Moar) Matus

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Elizabeth Matus (nee Moar) of Kelowna, BC on August 10, 2018 at the age of 79 years.
Bessie leaves to mourn her husband Don Pearson, step-daughter Sue Mozdzen and her husband Stan, granddaughters Davlin and Danya, sisters Augusta Calder, Tina Dickson, Myrtle Kenny, Diane Moar, Fran Moar, Lorna (Don) Asham, brothers Archie Moar and Garry (Barb) Moar, sisters-in-law Phyllis Moar and Wilma Moar, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, many relatives and friends.

Bessie was pre-deceased by her first husband Ron Matus, her parents Robert and Claudia Moar, mother-in-law Doris Pearson, brothers Angus, Don and John, brothers-in-law Lloyd Calder, Art Dickson.

Bessie was born November 30, 1938 in Kinosota where she grew up and attended school.  She was a graduate of Portage Business College and was employed in various jobs in the business world in Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia.  Her last position prior to retirement was with her husband Don in the operation of their own business, Silver Ridge Service, in Silver Ridge, Manitoba.  Following retirement they returned to British Columbia (Kelowna) where they spent the summer months while wintering in Chapala, Mexico.  During their retirement they enjoyed various gold courses and travelling to many parts of the world.

In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in memory of Bessie may be made to St. Bede's Anglican Church, Kinosota, MB R0H 0L0 or to Breast Cancer Research.

Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm from St. Bede's Anglican Church in Kinosota , MB  with Rev. Jona Weitzel, Rev. Ann Crossland officiating.  Interment followed in St. Bede's Cemetery in Kinosota, MB.
