Edwin Harold Unger

September 17, 1935 – December 24, 2019 (Age 84)

With heartfelt sadness, we say goodbye to my beloved father, our cherished grandfather and a dear friend, Ed Unger “The Kings Hotel Barber.”

Edwin passed away peacefully at ‘The Pines’ in Kimberley, BC on December 24, 2019 at the age of 84. He was a man of great strength and valour, and will be missed dearly.

Edwin would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call – a sort of offer he could not refuse – for an appointment for which he will not be returning. He was called away for a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. With a guitar in his hand and a song in his voice, now reunited with his wife, Hattie, and son, Darwin, the journey is complete.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter and son-in-law, Edwina (Rick) Peacosh; the “apples of his eye,” his three granddaughters, Kristina (Paul), Ashley (Isaac) and Jessica (Meagan) and his adored great-grandchildren, Sirko, Lilla, Van and twin girls Rey and Charlie.

He will also be remembered by his sisters, Phyllis (Terry) Kilburn, Sandra (Stuart) Allen, Holly (Ghislan) Landry; sister-in-law, Frieda Unger; Hattie’s sisters, Verla Clark, Kathleen (Eugene) Kluke; in-laws (Mary) Rody, (Fred) Malchuk; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

A private graveside service and interment will be held on September 26, 2020 at The Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB.
