Edward Phillip Panagapko, passed away peacefully in the Brandon Regional Health Centre on February 20, 2026 at the age of 83.
Born in Ste Rose Du Lac, MB, to Phillip and Mary Panagapko, Edward was the first of 6 children. He was raised on the family farm outside of Rorketon, MB and attended school in Weiden, MB. After the passing of his father, Edward played a large part helping his mother and siblings maintain the family homestead, until eventually relocating to the town of Rorketon, where he resided until his passing.
Ed was known throughout his life as a kind and gentle person. In his younger years he enjoyed all aspects of life on the farm. He always had a soft spot for livestock and other animals and later in life continued to help his brother Russell with many activities during seeding and harvest. Ed took a keen interest in electrical repair, and spent many hours troubleshooting circuit boards, switches, and other various components to fix countless projects for members of the community. In his later years, Ed continued to be active in community events and enjoyed watching local curling, perogy making, and trips to neighbouring communities.
Ed was a wonderful and loving brother and uncle. The family will cherish countless memories of time spent laughing, playing games, gardening, and enjoying the joyful times made better by Ed’s positive attitude and sense of humor.
Edward is predeceased by his parents Philip and Mary Panagapko. Brother Larry Panagapko, sister-in-law Margaret Panagapko. Brothers in law Carl Marshall and Stan Galay.
He will be dearly missed by his brother Russell (Karen) Panagapko of Dauphin, MB. Sisters Agnes Galay, Dianne Marshall and Cindy as well as many Nieces, Nephews and countless friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Friday, May 1st at 11:00AM in St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Rorketon MB. Interment followed.
Please join the family for lunch and refreshments at the Lawrence Community Centre following the service.
