It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Allan Blanchard announce his sudden passing July 8th, 2020.
Ed was born June 24th, 1955 to Ralph and Bella Blanchard in Silver Ridge, MB. He and his older brother, Wayne were raised at Silver Ridge where Ed spent many happy hours fishing and hunting.
After completing high school, Ed went to work for Highways where he worked for 38 years before retiring in 2012.
Ed was a very talented artist who used his love for the outdoors and his study and knowledge from hunting to create beautiful, detailed drawings. He was always willing to donate pictures to fundraising events and was grateful that his talent could benefit others.
Ed loved to sing and was a member of several gospel groups through the years, one of his greatest joys was singing for the folks at the Personal Care Home.
Ed gave up hunting, but fishing remained a passion and many contented hours were passed on riverbanks with fishing pole in hand. Ed was an excellent fisherman and never came away empty handed. He always generously shared the bounty with friends, family and neighbours.
Ed leaves to mourn, his wife Kim, first wife Donna, children, Trina (Brett), Autumn and Jeremy, grandsons, Noah and Benjamin, brother Wayne, nieces, Tasha (Luis) and Billie-Jo and nephew, Mitchell (Stephanie), great nephews Tiago and Nicholas and great nieces, Hannah, Emily, Katie-Ella and Sophie.
Ed was pre-deceased by his parents Ralph and Bella Blanchard and by sister-in-law Debbie Blanchard. There were many people in Ed’s life that were like family to him, they are too numerous to name but you were all valued and loved.
