Donald Raymond Racette

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald Raymond Racette of Ebb and Flow First Nation. Donald passed away surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Ste. Rose General Hospital at the age of 71 years. 

Donald was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Myrtle; his parents, Bonaparte and Ida Racette; his brothers, Michael and Douglas Racette; his sisters, Darlene and Delores Racette, Julida Beaulieu, Adeline Houle, Virginia Schwenzer and Elizabeth Meeches; his in-laws, Dora Garneau and Fred Flett; his sister-in-law, Sylvia Mousseau; his brothers-in-law, Clifford Garneau, Delbert Garneau, Gunther Schwenzer, Edward Meeches and Charlie Roulette; his daughter-in-law, Simone Racette; his nephews, Clifford Dean Baptiste, Delbert Houle and Byron Malcolm; and his grandparents, Jean and Julia Racette. 

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; his son, Franklin (Jade);  his daughter, Nancy (Keith);  his son, Darcy Hawkins; his daughter, Debbie Beaulieu (Jason) and their children; his grandchildren, Frankie, Shaunda, Lauren, Serena, Darrell, Danielle, Tyson, Demi, Jay and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Danson, Nellie, LaceeJay, and Derric; his brothers, Denis Racette (Elaine), Larry Racette (Phyllis), Ron Racette (Ursula); his sisters, Claudia Roulette, Jessie Roulette, Denise Courchene (Brian), Debbie Racette; and his godson, Jason Ducharme, numerous goddaughters and his faithful pet dog, Georgie. 

Wake and Prayer Services for Don were held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Ebb and Flow Community Complex, Ebb and Flow First Nation.  

Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Ebb and Flow Community Complex, Ebb and Flow First Nation.

Interment in the Ebb and Flow Cemetery. 

God saw you getting tired a cure was not to be;
So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. 

Many times we thought of you, many times we've cried. 
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. 

A golden heart stopped beating, your tender hands at rest
God took you home to prove to us He only takes the best.
