Deloris Fagnan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Betsy Deloris Fagnan (Blue Sky Woman) on December 19, 2025 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre surrounded by her family. Deloris was born on April 12th, 1952 in Swan River, MB to St. Peter and Alice Fagnan. She grew up in the Swan River area and where she attended grade school. Later on in her teens she attended Ninette Collegiate where she completed her grade 10. Deloris became a mother at a young age with her son Lonny and then Rosemary.
She married Metro Stychyshyn on October 19th, 1974. They then lived on Metro's family farm in Vesna Saskatchewan. In 1975 they bought a house and moved to Benito, MB and welcomed a daughter Rubyanne. Then in 1986 Deloris gave birth to Twyla. Deloris lived in many different places, Alberta, Saskatchewan and then returned to Manitoba making her home in Tootinaowaziibeeng with her partner, the late Clement Catagas until her passing. During her life time, Deloris enjoyed going to bingo's and socializing with her friends. In her younger years, she loved to garden ensuring there was always plenty of vegetables for her family and tending to her flowers and taking care of her yard. Deloris especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and chapans. She was very family oriented, always there to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. She was a very kind hearted person. 
Deloris is predeceased by her parents St. Peter and Alice Fagnan; grandparents St. Peter Genaille and Charlotte Stevens; grandson Shiloh; partner Clement; brothers Willard, James and Danny; sister-in- law Marylin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Deloris leaves to mourn her children; Lonny, Rosemary (Gerald), Rubyanne, Twyla (Shawn); step children Kelly, Robert and Joseph; sisters  Nancy, Lucy, Lori;  brother George and sister-in- law Bernice.; her grandchildren, Allysha (Aaron), Bethany (Cody), Tristen, Ashley, Ashton, Seth (Katrina), Bettyanne (Justin), Brandon, Isabelle, Kashton;  her chapans Sophia, Harley, Gracie, Johnathan, George, Aaron Jr, Aurora, Mya, Ava, Izayah, Aniyah, Sheldon, Kyle and Hueston. She also leaves to mourn her aunts, Sarah Sutherland and Edna Genaille as well as numerous cousins, friends and relatives.

A Wake for Deloris was offered on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 4:00 pm at the Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation Hall in Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve, MB.

A Funeral Service was held for Deloris on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 10:00 am from the Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation Hall in Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve, MB with Father Rene Katcha Digba officiating.  

Interment followed in the Tootinaowaziibeeng First Nation Cemetery.
