David Alan Smelski

David Smelski of Calgary, Alberta, formerly of Dauphin, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the age of 58 years.

A Memorial Service will be held for David  on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:30 am from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin. 

Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery - Dauphin.

David Smelski of Calgary passed away on Sunday, January 1. 2023 at the age of 58 years.

David was born on February 20, 1964 in Dauphin, MB and raised on the family farm. He attended school in Dauphin and moved to Calgary in 1982.

He is survived by his partner Mabel Torres, sons Gabriel and Alekzander, daughter Ariel, step sons Will and Jason, wife Dawnelle, and grandchildren Brianna and Saiya. 

David was predeceased by his father Alex Smelski in 2008, sister Verna Smelski in 1977, and Kevin Peters in 2016, as well as aunts and uncles.  

Left to mourn are David's mother Josephine Smelski, brothers Ray and his wife Jeanette, Ken and wife Helen, sister Darlene Peters, and nephew Jared Smelski, as well as numerous cousins and other family and friends.

David had his flaws but was a great father with a kind heart and would always help people out.  He enjoyed classic rock music, airplanes, UFO's, arm wrestling, fishing, camping and repairing vehicle and equipment.
