David John Hunter
26 September, 1935 - 15 November 2023.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, He passed away on November 15, 2023 at the age of 87 years.
David John Hunter was born to Ethel and Harold Hunter in Gypsumville, Manitoba.
Dave spent his growing up years in Gypsumville going to school and working on the family farm and other farms in the area. After leaving Gypsumville to forge out his life,
he held many jobs including: commercial fisherman in Manitoba and on Great Slave Lake, a taxi driver in Yorkton, a long haul truck driver out of Winnipeg, and ending his working career working for Manitoba Highways as a grader operator.
After retirement, Dave did odd jobs to keep himself busy, before moving to McCreary, Manitoba to enjoy his remaining years.
In his spare time Dave enjoyed fishing, camping and his many make work projects.
Dave was very involved in the The Pas community in his many years living there.
He was part of the C.B Radio club, Trappers’ Festival, MGEA/MGEU, EMO, and the Salvation Army as a Senior Soldier. He also really enjoyed being involved in the elections helping the NDP in any way he could.
Dave was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Harold Hunter, baby sister Irene and older brother Hugh.
Dave is survived by his wife Thelma; children Davin, Michelle, Dawn-Maire (Jean-Marc); grandchildren, Devery, Sheena ( ), Jeanette (Devin), Russell, Jean-Micheal, Samuel, Elizabeth, Jarod and Mia, great grandchildren; Deanna, Owen and Quinn, his sister Mattie Brown and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with David's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, please remember David by having a tree planted in his memory.
