Daniel Pinette
Daniel Joseph Pinette passed away on April 25, 2025 at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home.
Daniel was born on June 22, 1942 in Ste. Rose du Lac. He grew up in Ste. Amélie, the 5th child of Frederic and Alice Pinette.
Daniel's family and faith were very important to him. He was a huge help to Mom and Dad as he was always willing to help with any chores and with his younger siblings. It was not uncommon to see him giving one or two of them a ride in his wheelbarrow. Daniel was unable to attend school because of his development challenges. He did not learn to read & write but he was gifted in so many others ways. Looking at his calendar, Daniel knew when his sibling's birthdays were. He had a great memory and never forgot people he met. Anyone who met Daniel was his friend. He loved unconditionally.
Daniel was predeceased by his parents Frederic & Alice (Verhaeghe), his sisters Anne-Marie, Thérèse, Gisèle Masse, Edithe, his brothers Benoit and Camille, his brothers-in-law Maurice Gendron, Roland VanDeKerckhove, Normand Lemoine, and his nephews Robert Gendron, Stan Procyshyn and Scott Schinkel.
Left with warm and cherished memories are his siblings; Irène Gendron, Lorraine Hamilton (Garry), Lilliane VanDeKerchhove, Gerald, Denis (Mariette), Estelle Funk (Ned), Jocelyne, Carmelle Meilleur (Gilles), and Rosita Bouchard (Ben), his sisters-in-law Denise and Margaret and his brother-in-law Don Masse (Louise) along with many nieces, nephews and 2 very special cousins Noellie Wiebe and Solange Spence.
Funeral Mass for Daniel was celebrated on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 1:00 pm from Ste. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Rose du Lac. Fr. James Ahaneku celebrated the mass with interment following in the Ste. Amelie Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. O'Hagan, Dr. Gudmundson and the other doctors who provided in his care. We are very grateful to the staff of Rose Inc and Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home for providing such great care to our brother Daniel as well as becoming a part of his family.
