Daniel Abraham

It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Abraham- know to many as Danny- announces his peaceful passing on July 8,2025 at the age of 56 at Health Science Centre- Winnipeg MB.

Danny was born on December 28,1968 in Winnipeg and was the youngest of five children. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Laurent Abraham, and his older brother Ronald Abraham.

Danny grew up in Charleswood where he spent his childhood exploring the outdoors, caring for his beloved rabbits and cats, and creating lasting friendships. He shared a close bond with his mother and fondly remembered summer drives, tobogganing adventures and movie nights at the drive-n. He had a quiet nature and dry sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.

A fan of heavy metal, Danny was especially fond of Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. He loved camping, biking, taking things apart (even if they didn’t go back together!) and spending time with family and friends.

Danny worked in the meat packing industry in St. Boniface before moving to Ochre River in 2000, where he lived on the edge of town, enjoying small-town life, time with cousins and working for the RM on various jobs. His yard was perfectly kept, a point of pride among those who knew him. He was known in the community as “silent Dan” a nickname given in fun to reflect his reserved but kind-hearted nature.

In 2006, Danny returned to Winnipeg, where he lived until his passing. He formed a meaningful friendship with Pastor Andy and Bren-Lee, who remained close companions.

Danny is lovingly remembered by his siblings Teresa Newman, Debra McKay and Michael Abraham, as well as by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

The family wishes to thank those who supported Danny in his life and those who continue to share their memories of him. Also big thanks to the medical ICU at Health Science center for the amazing care Danny received while there. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered,

A Graveside Service was held for Daniel on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, MB with Pastor Andy Porter officiating.
