Christopher Phillip Wozny

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we must share the news of the sudden passing of our beloved son Chris. Chris passed away at St. Boniface Hospital Acute Cardiac Care ICU in the early afternoon of June 20th, 2025.

Christopher was born on October 24th, 1982 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, son of Larry and Barbara Wozny.

Left to mourn is his young son, Kaden Alexander, parents Larry and Barb, sister Candy Galay (Dean Alley), nieces Chynna Galay (Brenden Holowach), Brianna Wozny (Justin Roy), great nieces Olive and Pepper, brother Marlon (Meghan), nephews Presley Ostlund (Maddy Post), and Parker Ostlund, nephew in-law Jamie Cartwright, mother in-law Melanie Anderson (Kevin Cecile), father in-law Patrick Wach (Brenda), sister in-law Shantel Anderson (Mark) and niece Nixon. Aunts & Uncles; Myron Chunick (Shannon), Sylvia Arseny, Sandra Ostlund, John Wozny (Barb) as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Chris was predeceased by his partner Kayla Anderson, maternal grandparents Anna and Soter Chunick, paternal grandparents, Phillip and Anne Wozny, Aunties Sonia Merko and Diane Rebien and Uncle Harry Rebien, cousins Tammy Rebien and Lorne Rebien, Uncles Don Ostlund and Steve Arseny.

Pallbearers: Dilshan Bastians, Jimmy Zeniuk, Nicholas Arseny, Rob Rebien, Presley Ostlund and Parker Ostlund.

All of Chris’s friends and family should consider themselves as Honorary Pallbearers.

A Funeral Service was held for Christopher on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10:00 am from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin with Rev. Father Brent Kuzyk officiating.  

Interment followed in the Vimy Ridge Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Pine River, MB.

Lunch was held at the Pine River Community Centre.

“I am sending a dove to heaven with a parcel on its wings. Be careful when you open it, its full of beautiful things. Inside are a million kisses wrapped up in a million hugs. We will hold you close to our hearts and there you will remain. To walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again”
