Catherine Perih Obituary

Peacefully, Catherine “Kay” Perih passed away on February 11, 2025, at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre with family by her side.

Catherine was born in Grandview, Manitoba on October 25, 1939. She was raised in Grifton and spent her childhood on the farm with her brothers and sisters. She attended a one-room school in Grifton. Being from a big family, her parents Mike and Anne Tanasichuk instilled a self-reliant attitude in their children. This contributed to Catherine being a caring, nurturing, and independent person.

Catherine will be remembered as a kind and loving soul with a delightful sense of humour who touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a heart full of warmth, always ready to listen and offer a helping hand. Her home reflected her care and dedication - her yard was always immaculate, a source of pride that brought her joy. She found peace in tending to her garden, planting flowers, preserving vegetables, and filling her kitchen with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals. More than anything, Catherine cherished time with her children. She loved going on rides and trips with them, whether it was a short drive close to home or an adventure further away. Those moments spent together, filled with laughter and love, were some of her happiest. Her kindness, devotion, and beautiful spirit will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debra, Sherry, Brian (Raeanne), and Barry; grandchildren, Dalton (Emily) Jackson and Brooklyn Jackson.

Catherine is survived by her sisters, Betty Deczycia, Helen (Adolph) Gawaziuk, Sylvia (George) Harris, Nettie Berting, Veronica (Ted) Ganczar; brother-in-law, Ernie Kokolsky and sister-in-law, Marie Komarnicki; along with many nieces and nephews.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Joe; sons, Terry, and Rick; parents Michael and Anne Tanasichuk; sisters, Mary, Doris, Victoria, and Iris; and brothers, Eddy, Fred, Walter, and Victor.

Thanks is extended to the staff of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre for the care Catherine received.

Arrangements were entrusted to Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services with funeral homes in Dauphin, Roblin, and Ste. Rose du Lac.
