Carmen Chartrand Obituary

Carmen Sylvia Chartrand of Duck Bay, MB, tragically passed away in Dauphin, Manitoba on November 13, 2024, at the age of 50 years.

Carmen Sylvia was predeceased by her mother Florence, her father Leo, brother Floyd and son Georgie Jr.  She leaves to mourn her daughter Jade-Lynn, her grandchildren Nolan and Kaizer, her brothers Ryan and Leo, sister Pam, her nieces, nephews and her extended family and friends that she loved dearly.

Cameron Sylvia was born on June 28, 1974 in Winnipegosis, she spent her early years living with her mother and in later years moved in with her father in Camperville, Manitoba.  In her early years, Carmen Sylvia spoke fondly of her visit on Sesame Street with her brother Floyd.

Carmen Sylvia never let her struggles define her and was known for her fiery personality.  She loved being a Mom, and she deeply mourned the loss of her son, Georgie Jr.  One of the highlights of her life was the birth of her grandsons Nolan and Kazier.  Every time she saw them or spoke of them, you would see a sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face.

She enjoyed watching boxing, playing cards, hunting and trapping with her dad Leo (Popz), hanging out with her family and friends.  Carmen Sylvia had a special bond with her best friend Georgette Sutherland and mother-in-law Sharon Lamirande.

Carmen Sylvia was a woman of silent strength.  Through the years and the deterioration of her health, she never complained and faced every day with hope and courage.  If you met Carmen Sylvia walking down the street and she saw someone that needed help, she would give them the shirt off her back.  Carmen Sylvia enjoyed her time at the Dauphin Friendship Centre where she volunteered and spent time with her daughter Jade-Lynn.
