Bradley Tully Obituary

With deep sadness we announce that on July 31, 2025, at the age of 70 years, Brad passed away at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, MB. His sister Suzan was by his side.

What can we say about Brad, well, he was a character. He was born November 14,1954 in Gilbert Plains, MB to the delight of his parents Marion and Dave Tully. He was the oldest of three siblings, and luckily for his parents, he was the only wild one. His growing up years were shared between Gilbert Plains, and Dauphin Manitoba. After leaving high school in Dauphin, he had a foundation to become a very fine auto body painter. He had the skill and attention to detail to do an excellent job. As a young adult, Brad was employed in body shops in Winnipeg & Edmonton, then returned to Manitoba.

At the end of the day he would say he loved that work. He traveled down to California with his buddies in the 1970’s, seeing notable points along the way. He would bring up those travels and his fishing trips in many future conversations. He had a very strong bond with our mother, and when we lost her in 1997, hearts were broken. Brad loved fishing, enjoyed two motorcycles, Harley Davidson, of course, and for a short time a 1962 Cadillac. He also collected Coke memorabilia, signage, coins and all kinds of crazy stuff including a red wagon full of pennies. He particularly enjoyed a chunky gold, British Sovereign ring, always worn with denim overalls or black sweatpants, very uneven, very Uncle Brad. He loved his family and close friends, girlfriends, and enjoyed great times with his brothers from another mother. Brad was a much loved ‘big’ brother and Uncle, a great support and cheerleader of sorts, for his sister Suzan, brother in law, and his young nephews.

During his last hospitalization at DRHC, it was clear he would no longer manage in his little house he loved. He was transferred very briefly to the Carberry Personal Care Home, and the staff were very good to him there and for that we are grateful.

Brad was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Martha Ellen and Alfred Joseph Rowat, paternal grandmother Hazel Mary Tully, his parents Marion Josephine (Rowat) and David Carleton Tully. As well as his Uncle Arnold Graham, aunts Shirley Rowat and Joan Graham and cousin Brant Graham.

Left to mourn his death are his sister Glennda Tully (Holly Hewens) of Dauphin, MB, and kid sister Suzan (John) Dolloff, of Portage La Prairie, MB. Brad always and with great affection, introduced Suzan that way, no matter how old she was. He cherished his nephews (the young fellers’), Mark Dolloff of Portage La Prairie, MB and William Dolloff & girlfriend Jordan Crooks of Winnipeg, MB. As well as cousins.

Brad will be sadly missed by those who loved him. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to many people. Brad’s friends, especially Don. B. and neighbour Kevin D. who helped with chores to keep Brad living at home, where he wanted to be. Brad was thankful for the Dauphin Home Care staff for their help, especially Amanda. We thank Brooke who ran errands and did house keeping for Brad, we know how exacting he could be, so her job was not easy. We extend a heart felt thanks to Dr. Sara Scott, and Mackenzie Kozak PA, for their care and attention to Brad. We would like to acknowledge the 2nd Floor Nursing staff at DRHC. To the the staff there who provided professional, kind, compassionate and attentive care, please accept our gratitude. To Glennda and Holly, we give thanks for your love, and will always remember your unending support, and care for Suzan and her family, during the many trips to Dauphin since May.
