Blanch Spence

Our beloved wife, mother, granny, aunt and friend Blanch Spence passed away on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022 at the age of 68 years with her family by her side.  Blanch fought a long and courageous battle.  

Blanch will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years Ken, her sons Dale (Alanna) and Trevor, her grandchildren Hannah, Kiera, Fallon, Kendra and Taya, her siblings Leona, Joe (Cathy) and Shirley (Tony).  She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Blanch was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Margaret Trumbla, her brothers Harry, Jim, Kenny and Melvin, and her sisters Nancy and Sharon.  

Blanch spent almost 30 years working for the Spence Lake Community Council as the public works coordinator.  The bulk of her duties was operation of the Spence Lake Waste Disposal site which was open three days per week.  At this position she had the good fortune of meeting every resident that used the site.  This site was a very busy disposal site, serving three cottage communities and Spence Lake.  Upon her retirement she always said that what she missed the most was the people she interacted with every week.  She made many life long friends and acquaintances through her work there.  

Blanch had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back.  It must be said that she was the best filleter this side of Lake Manitoba.  

A celebration of Blanch's life will be held on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Lawrence Community Complex, Rorketon, MB.  

Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Blanch to a charity of your choice.  

Ken and family wish to send a special thank you to the staff at the Ste. Rose General Hospital for their care and compassion.
