Billy passed away with his loving partner Iris Slone at his side on January 31, 2024. Iris will forever cherish the years they had together and all the wonderful memories they made.
Billy is survived by his loving partner and soul mate, Iris Slone. His mother-in-law Mable Paczkoski; brothers-in-law Lyle (Diane), Tom (Jen), Phil, Peter (Michelle); his sisters-in-law, Margaret Johnston, Deloris (Brian) Cockerill; along with several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Billy also leaves extended nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Ireland.
Billy was born on March 2, 1945 in Derry, Ireland. He attended school in Moville and then on to Veterinary College in Dublin, Ireland. He briefly practiced in Wales and England, and in 1973 he came to Roblin where he was a Vet for many years. Firstly at Roblin Veterinary Clinic and later on he operated McCauley on Farm Vet Services from his home and retiring in 2016.
Billy was an amazing / incredible Vet and worked 24 / 7. He so loved his football (soccer). His team was New Castle United. He also enjoyed cooking and trout fly fishing, especially at Childs Lake and also in Ireland.
Billy's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate to know him.
Rest in Peace Billy.
In accordance with Billy's wishes cremation has taken place and interment will be in Ireland.
Funeral Service was held on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Roblin, MB with Fr. Toni officiating.
Interment will follow in his beloved Ireland, next to his parents Denis and Margaret and sister Euginie in Ballybrack Cemetery, Moville, Ireland.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of William may be made to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Parish in Roblin or the Merridale Community Centre.
