Bill Huska Obituary

Bill passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021 at St Paul's Personal Care Home in The Pas, MB at the age of 88.  Bill was predeceased by his brother Michael (Vivian), his parents, Jack and Sophie Huska; niece Michelle Huska (Geohagan) and brother Morris (June) Huska, and ex-wife Donna (Potter).  He is survived by his children, Dawn (Ryan) Mawer and grandson, Jack of Sarnia, Ontario; Bob Huska of The Pas, Manitoba; and Karen Huska of Winnipeg, Manitoba; brother Donald (Donna) Huska of Calgary, Alberta; sisters-in-law June (Morris) of Moosehorn, MB, and Vivian (Michael) of Grandview, MB,  and several nieces and nephews and their children.

Bill was born in Grandview, Manitoba.  He met and married Donna while working for CN in Dauphin, MB in 1967.  The majority of Bill's life was lived in The Pas, MB, where they moved in 1969 for a career change at the newly opened Churchill Forest Industries pulp and paper mill and had a long career there until his retirement.  He enjoyed the excellent hunting, fishing, and photography opportunities available in Northern Manitoba as well as gardening, and he had a knack for finding patches of wild mushrooms. He was a sports fan and an enthusiastic spectator of the local hockey scene.

His family thanks the medical professionals and staff of St Paul's Personal Care Home and The Pas Health Complex for their care and support, especially during his recent decline and final days.

In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation will take place under the care of Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services in Dauphin, MB, and a private family service will be held at a later date when Bill can be laid to final rest with his parents and brother Michael.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St Paul's Personal Care Home, Box 240, The Pas, Manitoba, R9A 1K4 would be appreciated by Bill's family.
