Beverly Garneau Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Beverly on February 17, 2018 at the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home at the age of 54 years.  Bev fought a courageous battle with congestive heart failure at the age of 54 years.

Bev worked numerous jobs throughout her life.  She worked as a counsellor at Willard Monson House and the Dauphin Friendship Centre, as a life skills coach in the Pas and as a social worker for Sandy Bay Child and Family Services.  Bev worked at Ebb and Flow School as a Educational Assistant and assisted with speech therapy and as the school receptionist.  She also fostered children for a brief time.

Bev was a very loving compassionate person.  She loved her family so very much and always wanted to be around them.  Bev enjoyed her grandchildren whom she called her Grandies.  Her eyes would light up when she saw them and she had nicknames for each and every one of them.  She sang songs to them everytime she saw them.  Bev would shower them with hugs & kisses and so much love! Her Grandies knew how much their Koko Bear loved them.

Bev instilled in her children and grandchildren how important education was and how very proud of them she was of them.  She was a very hard working woman.   We will always remember how crazy and humourous she was.  She loved to visit with family and friends and enjoyed her favorite TV shows like Project Runway.  Bev loved telling stories of when she was young and all of the things she did.  Her motto was "You cannot keep a good woman down"!  Bev was a very determined woman who followed her own path in life.  If Bev wanted to do something, there wasn't much that anyone could do to dissaude her.  Bev fought hard right until the end when she left to begin her journey in the spirit world.

Bev was predeceased by her loving parents Gunter and Virginia Schwenzer, her nephew Ricky Jr, her aunt and uncle Elizabeth and Edward Meeches, her cousins Debbie, Vernon (Shosho) Terry, Fernan, Tanya, her aunt Adeline, her special friend Gail and her beloved pets Pipshin and Max

She leaves to mourn her passing; her loving children Tanis (Rodney), Trevor Sr (Ashtyn), Tasha (Joel), her sister Blondie, her brother Ricky (Holly), her grandchildren Warner, Mason, Isiah, Skylar, Akacya, and Trevor Jr, her best friends Brenda, Sandra, her pet dog Trixie along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. D. O'Hagan, the nurses and staff of the Ste. Rose General Hospital and the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home for taking care of our mother, to Chief and Council of Ebb and Flow First Nation, the bingo committee and Auntie Lisa and Uncle David for all of their assistance.  We will be forever grateful.

We are all going to miss you so much, Mom! But we know that you are in a better place now and are with your parents.  We will all cherish all of the beautiful memories we had with you.  We love you, Mom!

Viewing and a time of visitation for family and friends was held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in the Sneath-Strilchuk - Ste. Rose Chapel.  In accordance with Bev's wishes, cremation followed and a memorial service was held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Ebb and Flow Community Complex, Ebb and Flow, Manitoba.  Fr. Patrick Neufeld officiated.  Interment will take place at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery, Waterhen, MB
