In the early morning hours of March 5th, 2023, heaven gained a beautiful angel. It is with great sadness, Bernice Ann (Miller) Stratuliak passed away suddenly, but peacefully with her family by her side at the St. Boniface hospital in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 71 years. We want to give a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at both the Dauphin Regional Health Centre and St. Boniface hospital for their support and care.
Bernice was born on the farm in Calder Saskatchewan in 1951 to Kathleen and William Miller. In 1972 Bernice was united in marriage to William (Bill) Stratuliak. In October of last year, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Bernice was known for her gracious customer service for over 30 years at Town and Country where she was known by anyone and everyone. She was a dedicated worker who put a smile on people’s faces as they walked through the doors. She would have a conversation with you no matter who you were which made her such a beautiful person inside and out.
Bernice lived a life full of joy, happiness, and love. She had a heart of gold and made an impact on the world around her. She was a caregiver, role model, and a great listener. It did not take much to make her happy whether it was a phone call or a visit, she never complained. Bernice was kind, generous and was deeply loved by those surrounding her. Family was important to her and is something we will all cherish. She will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Bernice had a passion for cooking, baking, cosmetics, and gardening. She never left the house without her nails painted, hair done and makeup on, even if it was a trip to Walmart. Her favorite part of gardening was planting her flowers especially petunias, marigolds, and geraniums. Her cooking and baking abilities were unmatched, if you came to her house, you never left hungry. She was famous for her puffed wheat cake, perogies, homemade soups, zucchini muffins, butterballs, rice Krispy rolls and so much more. If you did not leave Bernice’s place without a margarine container full of goodies, then something was wrong. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, going to the lake, riding the golf cart, and spending time with family. She enjoyed watching curling and her Pittsburgh Penguins play. In addition, she loved going to the hockey games in town as that was something she really enjoyed. She loved playing cards, board games and bingo. She was always invested in these hobbies and many of them will now be a part of our lives forever.
There is so much more to be said about Bernice and how she impacted the lives of many. May she keep watching us from the skies and may our hearts remember her every second of
every day.
